Thai Airways International Public Company Limited appointed a committee to select a new President and announced qualification for applicants. Mr. Surachai Tansitpong, THAI’s Chairman said that THAI has appointed a President Selection Committee to select a new President, replacing the former President who has resigned in November 2008.
The following committee members were appointed:

6. ACM Narongsak Sangapong Secretary
THAI’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Secretariat
The Selection Committee for THAI’s new President will have the authority to announce the qualifications of the President as well as the selection process and regulations in order to select candidates who are qualified in terms of education/knowledge, experience and in accordance with the Standard Quality of Directors and State Enterprise Employees Act 1975 (revised) and other related regulations to select and appoint a new President, in addition to the announcement of names of the qualified candidate to THAI’s Board of Directors.
1. General Qualification
1.1 Thai national.
1.2 Ages not over 58 years old on the application date.
1.3 Able to work full time for Thai Airways International Public Company Limited.
1.4 Not being member of the Board of Directors of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited on the application date.
1.5 Having sound mind and health.
1.6 Not being or has been bankrupt or has been bankrupt due to any corruption.
1.7 Has never been sentenced to imprisonment by the final judgment, whether or not the imprisonment has been actually served or not, except for the charges caused by negligence or petty offences, or the sentence was over, or the period for either suspension of sentence or of fixing the sentence, as the case may be, was over for five years.
1.8 Has never been sentenced to surrender own assets to the State due to unusual wealth by the court judgment or order.
1.9 Not being political servant, member of the Parliament or Senate, member of the local council or local administrator.
1.10 Not holding any position or being an officer in the political party.
1.11 Has never been dismissed or terminated from work due to any corruption.
1.12 Not being, or within the period of three years before appointment, has never been the Board member or administrative or management or stakeholder in any juristic persons which is the concessionaire, joint venture or having conflict of interest with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, except that the applicant has been appointed by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited to be Chairman of the Board of Directors or the member of the Board of Directors of such juristic persons.
1.13 Has never committed serious disciplinary action or being on investigation process of such nature or being on criminal charge process except for the charges caused by negligences or petty offences.
2. Specific qualifications
2.1 Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an educational institute accredited by the Office of the Civil Service Commission.
2.2 Having knowledge and experience in managing huge organization as follows;
2.2.1 In case of being or used to be an administrator of government agency, state-owned enterprise or government unit, he/she must be in a position of at least Deputy of the top Executive of such organization with a period of not less than 1 year in aggregate counting up to the application date; or
2.2.2 In case of being or used to be administrator of private sector, he/she must be in a position of at least Deputy of the top Executive of such organization having turn over of at least 10,000 Million bath per year, and holding such position for the continuing period of not less than 1 year counting up to the application date; or
2.2.3 In case of being a staff of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, he/she must have qualification as follows;
(1) Being in a position of at least Executive Vice President; or
(2) Has been in a position of Vice President at least 5 years counting up to the application date.
2.3 Having vision and idea which will all round and suitable for the administration and management of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited.
2.4 Having leadership, good human relations and international communication skills.
